Wow, can't believe how long it's been since we've blogged, So where do I begin?? I must mention that we opened once again for the Mudmen on April 7th in Stratford and it was a another great night to remember!! The Mudmen are promoting their new album Donegal Danny and I must say it is my favourite Mudmen Album to date. We also played the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium later in April for the annual Food and Beverage show. It's now July and summer is upon us so bring on the ribfests and highland games!! Oh, BTW, we are playing the "Sneak MacPeak" in Fergus on Thursday August 9th only and not the festival itself on the 10th,11th and 12th as previously blogged. I guess they want us to get things started after the parade with a huge party at the Legion Thursday night!!! don't miss us!

Cheers to all our fans old and new and those yet to discover the Shananigans!

Chris 8)

Wow what a year we had in 2011, looking back it's hard to believe it all happened in the same year. We played our biggest St. Paddy's Day ever as we started the morning out at Google's head office in downtown Kitchener (the old Tannery) for a Paddy's day lunch party, what a cool place that was and it was not surprising that the crowd included of a few laptops and some two way web cams, then we were off to McCabe's Irish Pub and Grill on King St. for a jam packed party that was live to air on Kitchener's Dave FM and then we proceeded over to the Stampede Corral for the main event! 16 hours in all, now that's how we like to celebrate St. Patrick's Day!! There were many memorable moments throughout 2011 from weddings to wakes and pubs to festivals but our biggest moment so far has to be the Fergus Scottish Festival & Highland Games where we opened for Canada's Celtic Stars the Mudmen! can't wait to do it again in 2012!

Speaking of 2012 so far we are starting the year off right with a matinee February 11th at the Stampede Corral with special guest singer/song writer Michael Kelly Cavan & Aimee Jesso on drums and then we are off to Niagara Falls Ontario for 2 days of Irish Festivities On March 3rd & 4th. On Saturday March 17th we start the big St. Paddy's Day program off once again downtown Kitchener at the Kitchener Market at 11:00 AM. We're not sure where we will be after that for the afternoon but we are sure it will be at one of the fine Irish Pubs in the area. For the Big evening of St. Paddy's we are at Molly Bloom's in Stratford for the first time and we hear it is a real party place especially on St. Paddy's since it's the only Irish pub in town! Hey maybe the Bieb will stop by! lol

On March 22nd we are once again performing at the annual Chicken Wing competition for the Waterloo Wellington Epilepsy's annual fundraiser at the St. George hall in Waterloo. On April 22nd we have a couple longtime Shananifans that are celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary and have included us in the festivities. In August we will once again be at the Fergus Scottish Festival & Highland Games on the 10th,11th & 12th and then we head to Grand Bend for an East Coast Wedding on the 25th.

That's what's happening so far this year and I will keep updating our tour schedule and this blog as more things are confirmed. Cheers to all our fans old and new and those yet to discover the Shananigans!

8) Chris
